THE REBUILD CONTINUES...

With a fresh coat of Heavy D‘s favorite shade of grey and a thick layer of bedliner on the underside, the cab was ready to be placed back on the frame.

STEP ONE

Before the cab could be mated back with the frame, the super beefy T-Case mount we talked about in the previous chapter needed to be installed.

STEP TWO

Once the T-Case and mount were dropped into place, the cab and frame could come back together. Reunited… and it feels so good!

STEP THREE

Before we placed the bed back on the frame, we updated the rear suspension with new leaf packs, airbags, and a completely reworked axle truss and track bar system.

STEP FOUR

An oversized Mishimoto Radiator was stuffed upfront where it will work to keep things running cool.

STEP FIVE

Twin Fleece compound turbos were bolted on to aid in creating enough power to not only move this beast along, but leave a path of rubber in its wake.

STEP SIX

The front and rear bumpers were stripped, cleaned up, and modified for the new look before being treated to a coating of bedliner and paint matched inlays.

STEP SEVEN

The bed was fitted with a custom built headache rack and (of course) a fresh layer of bedliner before being placed back on the frame.

STEP EIGHT

Even with the body and frame back together, there is still a laundry list of items to get done before we can hit the road. Stay tuned to see how this legendary rebuild finishes out.
